This bust was to be the first in a series of busts depicting the great Daimyos of Sengoku era Japan. I got as far as this one and the Kenshin bust and gave up because others have already got the theme covered. I decided to focus on personalities that haven't already been covered. I'll probably do busts of Oda Nobunaga, Tokugawa Ieyasu and maybe a few others, but that's after I finish all of the other crap on my shelf! This piece was sculpted from Magic Sculpt, using a casting of the head from the U-Boat Captain seen in the Assorted Busts section of this site. I ended up using that head for a few other busts as well. All of the recognizable detail was carved off and resculpted with epoxy putty. |
