This is a B17 Gunner I sculpted in 1997. I'm particularly fond of this piece for the paint job. This piece is one of the most ignored pieces in my collection at shows. No one likes it, I don't know why.

Here's another angle with a more direct view of the face.

Lt. JRM Chard VC, Zulu War Hero This is another piece that turned out to be model show poison. Again, I have no clue why. It's a fair likeness of the real man, and it's well painted. An interesting subject, but no one cared.

Another view of Chard showing the twisted wire for his rank epaulettes and the detail of his collar emblems.

This is another piece I did in '97. I started this one in the early evening on a Friday after work, and the sculpting was completely done by midnight that night! That is the fastest I've ever done a figure. I spent the weekend painting. Verlinden released a bust that was nearly identical to this one about six months after I completed it, only it was more of a likeness of Jürgen Prochnow in Das Boot, while mine was based more on a color plate in an Osprey Publications book on Uboat crew. Fortunately, I had already debuted this one at the the SCAHMS California Show that year and had pics of it on the table."
